Hieyo!
ReplyDeleteYour entry has a smooth flow, from your tertiary exprience to your secondary experience. And you round it up by talking about your hobbies.
I see that you wrote alot about your internship, which I can tell is a really enriching experience. I also think that you can write more on your job experience as a teacher, customer service officer, etc. Since these require communication skills and to liaise with people.
I'm impressed that you were awarded National Youth Achievement Award!!
Hi Kalene,
ReplyDeleteI did not elaborate on my job experiences because I feel my entry getting too long! :x So I rounded off in general the key experiences I gained. :)
Glad that you notice I wrote more in my internship part. As I feel it is one important part for applying future jobs.
The name of the Award just sounds nice, nothing great about it though. (:
Thanks for the comment!
Hey Jane,
ReplyDeleteYour achievements are impressive! You participate in so many activities, events and internship. From your biodata, I can see that you are an all-rounder.
I believe the experience and skills that you have gained previously is able to bring you to higher level in your future prospects.
Nice post=)
MuiPeng
Hey Jane,
ReplyDeleteLike what Mui Peng mentioned, i think you've had an impressive biodata. From technical skills in internship to holistic achievements through CCA and sports, i believe you have described yourself in a positive manner which is very good!
Your vast experience through attachments and part-time jobs certainly made you stand out form the rest.
By the way, all the best in taking your diving licence! (Caution: Singapore's waters is not that good to dive..) Haha.
Well-written! Cheers!
Johny
Hi Mui Peng and Johny,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouraging comments! :)
To Johny: I think I will not dare to dive in Singapore’s waters maybe till I am experienced enough. :p
I believe with a keen interest to learn and positive attitude would bring a person far. Have fun in school! (:
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteIt was really a well written post! And you are beginning to be like Kalene - Having long post. =x
I like the way that you describe yourself according to a third person's perspective. Your biodata has shown that you are a well-rounded person and has acheived a lot in your education. And I think that this post is very clear and concise!
Hi YuanYuan,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long post, I think is a bit too long too. But it is still far from Kalene’s entry. :x
It is a long post yet clear and concise? I shall cut down the words though.
Thanks for your comments and time for reading! :)
Hmmm, this Jane fellow sounds like an interesting person... perhaps we should call her in for an interview...
ReplyDeleteNice presentation, Jane. You highlight your main points really well. Just some grammar/spelling problems:
"the importance to be *organise* and be responsible"
"Beside academic *pursue*, Jane had also participated actively in co-curriculum activities (CCAs)"
If you are looking to trim this down, I would ask why you mention about activities such as swimming. Does this really help? I think you are trying to seem like a well-rounded person, but this perhaps would not interest a potential employer.
Good work, and good job in your presentation Monday.
Cheers,
Matt
Hi Matt
ReplyDeleteThanks for the corrections! I appreciated it greatly, I always have grammar problem no matter how many times I checked… Very bad.
I mentioned about swimming because I thought to include what I usually do. Think I included too many. :p And created a bad impression. I will take note of that.
Thank you for your comments. :)
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteYou have really participated in many many activities! I'm sure that has widened your horizon by quite a fair bit. :-)
Just one pointer, it might be a tad distracting to have metioned so many activities which you were involved in at one go. (Though I would call that a really happy problem, gosh, you have really done many intereting things!) How about highlighting some of the more outstanding ones (e.g. your NYAA award or the CCA experience highlights) and dwell deeper into them? From employers' point of view, perhaps they might be more interested to know more abuout the achievements/deeds which we are most proud of, and what had gone on to shape us into who we are today.
Just my 2 cents worth!
Kenny
Hi Kenny
ReplyDeleteYour comments definitely worth more than my 2 cents! :x Just kidding.
I feel it’s quite annoying to list down so many too if I am the employer reading. You have brought up a good point. I will take note of that.
Thanks for the comments. :)
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI also have a good impression for your biodata. It gives me an impression that you are an holistic person. I feel that even though your biodata is long, it could be easily modified to suit particular careers of your liking. I wish you all the best for your honours project next year.
